The stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad is still making headlines. Today, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy made serious comments in the Assembly about what happened. He claimed that Allu Arjun stayed at the theatre even after being told about Revathi’s death. Following this, Allu Arjun held a press meet at his home to clarify things.
“It was an unfortunate accident, and no one is to blame. We all had good intentions that day, but things went out of control unexpectedly,” said Allu Arjun. “I deeply sympathize with the deceased’s family. My main goal in life is to entertain people, and incidents like this make me very sad”.
Talking about Sri Tej, Allu Arjun said, “I’ve been getting updates about his health, and he’s recovering, which makes me happy. I am not blaming anyone but called this press meet to clear misunderstandings. There’s a lot of misinformation spreading about what happened”.
Allu Arjun added, “I feel like these allegations are damaging my character. I haven’t even watched my movie in a theatre yet and have been staying home. I made this film to take Telugu cinema to the next level, and these accusations hurt me deeply”.
He denied allegations of being irresponsible at the theatre. “It’s not true that I went to the theatre without permission or organized a roadshow. My car got stuck in the crowd, and I waved to calm people down. When I reached the theatre, the police were clearing the crowd, so I thought everything was under control,” he explained.
Allu Arjun said no police officer informed him about the situation. The theatre management asked him to leave due to overcrowding. “I only learned about the woman’s death the next day. It’s false that I refused to leave after being informed about her death,” he stated.
He clarified that he had asked Bunny Vasu to visit the hospital on his behalf. “I wanted to meet the deceased’s family, but my legal team advised against it. That’s why I released a video about the situation immediately,” he added.
“It’s not about the money. I’ve been supporting the family and staying in touch with them. These character-damaging allegations upset me deeply,” Allu Arjun shared.
He concluded by saying, “Sukumar Garu, the producers of Pushpa, and I plan to set up a fixed deposit in Sri Tej’s name. But these accusations are humiliating, especially when I’m working to bring pride to Telugu cinema at the national level”.
